Behind Every Name More than 58,000 names. More than granite heroes. In search of truth and understanding, the Education Center will reveal the human dimensions of the war as well as celebrate the service, sacrifice, loyalty, and love of those who served. The Center will enhance the experience of the entire National Mall, using storytelling to journey through layers of time, bringing history and echoes from The Wall to life.  Experiencing The Stories
The centerpiece will be the interactive Wall of Faces projecting personal images, media footage, oral histories and letters home. Providing an unfiltered glimpse into the reality of lives lost, the faces behind the names on The Wall will be featured on the veterans’ birthdays. A nationwide campaign is under way to collect a photo for every name. Have a photo or story to share? "Dear Dad, thank you for all those secret sodas.
